At Cattle For Africa, we recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Frontier Farms & Consult Limited and the Public Service Microfinance Company (PSMFC) to successfully procure and export dairy cattle to Zambia. This strategic project was part of PSMFC’s Agricultural Asset Plus Loan Scheme, which is designed to empower Zambian public service employees by providing them with valuable dairy production assets.
In this collaborative effort, we sourced and exported top-quality Jersey and Holstein dairy cattle, breeds that are renowned for their exceptional milk production and adaptability. Our primary goal was to enhance and contribute to the growth and sustainability of Zambia’s dairy sector, which aligns with our mission of supporting sustainable agriculture and delivering superior dairy genetics across Africa.
Hosting Partners in South Africa
We were delighted to host the PSMFC and Frontier Farms teams in South Africa. Their visit included comprehensive tours of our quarantine facilities, so they could witness firsthand the meticulous care and optimal conditions we provide for livestock during quarantine. Moreover, we arranged visits to several dairy and beef farms in the Western Cape, thereby showcasing the high standards and best practices that farmers maintain in livestock management.
This project represents more than just a business collaboration; indeed, it is a shared commitment to nurturing and strengthening the dairy industry in Zambia.
