On Christmas day 8 beautiful, and very special Holstein heifers arrived safely in Kanu, Nigeria. A better gift – we could not have asked for and the perfect way to wrap up a busy 2021.
These young ladies were with us for quite a while and they had become very much a part of the family. When they were finally ready to be loaded for delivery, there was no stress as they walked calmly on and off the truck and into the crates for their departure.
This order was not without its challenges. Lessons have been learnt and we have gained valuable experience navigating our way through Nigeria’s intensive health protocol requirements and lengthy quarantine period. The permit procedure and requirements also differ vastly from other African countries – so this was also a learning curve for all of us.
Thankfully – all’s well that ends well – and we are honored to have been a part of this project. Cattle for Africa would like to thank everyone involved along the way for their patience and perseverance which made it possible to successfully fulfill this order.
